A History-First Field Trip: Boston to Salem by Train
Ride the train with your class, then walk through 400 years of real history with a guide who stays with your group the whole way.
History You Can Walk Through
Salem, Massachusetts is turning 400 years old in 2026 — and there is no better classroom than its streets. Boston To Salem Tours brings your students from Boston to Salem by train for a guided, history-first walking tour: the Salem witch trials of 1692, colonial America, and the maritime trade that made Salem one of the young nation's busiest ports. Our tours are built on documented history — real people, real places, real stories. No ghost stories, no gimmicks: history your students will remember.
What's Included
Round-trip train ride from North Station in Boston to Salem and back — we buy every train ticket for the group, so your school does not have to arrange or pay for transport separately.
Guided history-first walking tour of Salem's historic sites, led by a knowledgeable local guide.
A guide with your group at all times — your guide meets the group, rides the train with you, leads the tour, and sees you back.
Morning and afternoon departures to fit your school day, on the date you choose.
Built for the Classroom
The tour connects directly to what students study in Massachusetts history and social studies classes:
Colonial America — settlements, daily life, and how a colonial town governed itself.
The Salem witch trials of 1692, told with the documented facts — the accusations, the trials, and the community that lived through them.
Maritime trade — Salem's ships, merchants, and the China trade that connected a small New England port to the world.
Salem's 400th anniversary in 2026 — what 400 years of history looks like when you stand where it happened.
Teachers are welcome to tell us what your class is studying — we are happy to emphasize the stops and stories that match your lessons.
